Cardwell
Architects, in association with Koetter Kim Architects, was selected
by the Port of Seattle to prepare an urban design plan for a major
piece of Seattle's waterfront. The project examined the potential
for the development of the Port of Seattle's central waterfront
and upland properties. The work included a series of development
alternatives that integrated maritime uses, including a passenger
ship terminal, fish processing plant, and maritime heritage museum
with office, retail, residential and hotel uses. The buildings were
organized around a core of public amenities and connections that
defined the urban character of the project.
